How counselling can help you

Each client is unique. I offer a trusting and non-judgemental place, allowing you space to connect with your feelings and identify issues that are weighing you down.

We work together, you in control of what you wish to share and leading the pace of the sessions.

We explore ways of managing the pressures of modern life and release emotional blocks, caused by trauma and life experiences. We gradually dig deeper and break down patterns of behaviour which are inhibiting progress, to bring about healing, resulting in emotional, physical wellbeing and transformation.

What to expect in your first counselling session

We will discuss what has brought you to counselling, how many sessions you would like to start with and how often you want to meet (for example weekly or fortnightly). I will then go through the therapeutic and counselling agreement with you, so we are both committed to the changes you want to make.

I work in a creative way, by helping you to connect with different parts of self, the aim is to get to a better understanding of identity and re-connect with positive areas which have become hidden or lost, as well as giving you the opportunity to find new strengths which further contribute to the feeling of the true self.

Areas I have supported counselling clients include: Generalised anxiety, depression, self-harm, bipolar, borderline personality disorder, suicidal ideation, bereavement, trauma, terminal illness, palliative care, loss of identity, confidence issues, panic attacks, anger issues, disability, low self-esteem, and stress.

Life coaching

I offer motivational wellbeing coaching, to empower clients and support them to work through obstacles in their life and find ways to move forward through exploration in the sessions, with activities, goal setting and action planning all contributing to achieving desired outcomes.

Areas I have supported coaching clients include: Anxiety, stress, confidence, low self-esteem, career progression, giving up smoking, motivation support, self-belief, time management, work/life imbalance, re-training, healthier living, and exercise.

I find my work extremely rewarding and I feel a sense of achievement when clients have breakthroughs, to allow positive change to take place.

Therapeutic Counselling

I attend regular supervision to ensure my work is safe, ethical and I am offering the best possible service to my clients, this is factored into the hourly rate which I charge for my services.  If a client and I identify that they may require specialist support which is out of my remit, we will work together through the referral and signposting process.

Therapy review

I have had meaningful and positive feedback from many of my clients, relating to my counselling and life coaching work.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the National Counselling Society (NCS) and International Coaching Federation and follow their ethical frameworks. I can also be found in the Counselling Directory. I hold diplomas in therapeutic counselling, life coaching, bereavement care and online counselling.

All of our life-coaching and counselling is confidential and I value your privacy hence the reason for not adding lots of therapy feedback to my website.

I would welcome the opportunity to support you, on your journey of self discovery.

Face-to-face and online sessions available.
